We also used Sperling’s Best Places to get data on job growth and median household income.

Population Threshold

To be considered for the ranking, a city or town needed to have a population of at least 5,000 people. The reason why we set this threshold is because we wanted to cover cities and towns where individuals could find employment in addition to Portland.
